Discrimination
The UK has some of the most comprehensive laws for ensuring employees are not unfairly discriminated against in the workplace.
From the 1976 Race Relations Act, which you might have heard mentioned, to the new Equality Act 2010, there is sufficient legal redress to ensure that if you are discriminated against owing the following reasons that you can take legal actions to gain justice:
- Racial or religious background
- Sexual orientation
- Sex
- Disability
- Age
Bullying is also an unacceptable practice in the workplace that can be legally addressed. The Directgov website says that bullying includes “abuse, physical or verbal violence, humiliation and undermining someone’s confidence.”
So if you feel you have lost a job opportunity, are being forced out of employment, have been dismissed unfairly, or suffer from lower rates of pay then perhaps our employment discrimination lawyers can help and possibly act under the Legal Aid scheme.
