What Is Legal Aid?
The Legal Services Commission currently works in partnership with Legal Aid solicitors and not-for-profit organisations to help over two million people each year access legal advice, information and help.
The Legal Aid scheme is designed to:
-
• Protect people’s basic rights and get a fair hearing
• Access the court process to sort out disputes
• Solve problems that contribute to social exclusion
What this amounts to in practice is:
-
• Advice for people on their legal problems
• Help people understand their rights and the law
• Advise people detained in police stations
• When necessary, represent people in court
Howards’ outlook and expertise ties in closely with these principles and activities.
We have vast experience of providing high calibre Legal Aid Services, across all our team and for many areas of law such as criminal and road traffic cases.
