Can I Get Legal Aid?

Can I Get Legal Aid?

It is a good question, especially if you have seen the news and are worried that the Legal Aid Budget will be cut and you will not be able to access a legal aid solicitor.

At the time of writing these cuts are proposals and have not been acted upon, so if you need legal advice and require Legal Aid do not hesitate to come forward.

Please bear in mind that, at two billion pounds each year, the Legal Aid budget is still one of the biggest and most generous schemes worldwide that ensures that those who need legal help and cannot afford it can access quality legal advice and representation.

There will be some areas of Legal Aid budget, which need to be safeguarded, such as any case where an individual’s liberty is at risk, and so criminal law recipients are unlikely to be hit hard.

The best advice we can give is to contact Howards if you need financial assistance through Legal Aid and we can advise and act according to your specific situation.

For some cases we offer a no win no fee approach, please ask for more details.

Please note that Legal Aid is only available in England and Wales and that Howards only operates in these jurisdictions.
